For good news see the botom of trhis entry.
My PS2 memory card, which is one of those Max Memory 16 megabyte memory cards, just did it's impersonation of an XBOX "red ring of death". I went into the browser, to look at the saved data, and it says that I have 0 KB free space, when the last I checked, I had 2,000 some odd KB free space, and there is corrupted data with a file size of ? KB. And what's causing it has to be my Call Of Duty 3, the only game that I play online. Now what REALLY gets me is that on this memory card is all the data for 12 games, and several of these, I had unlocked virtually everything within the game.
Here are the games I have lost the data for:
1.Soul Calibur 3 - half of everything unlocked
2.Soul Calibur 2 - everything unlocked
3.Metal Gear Solid 3 - everything unlocked in easy and normal dificulties, started on hard
4.Metal Gear Solid 2 - halfway through the game
5.Heroes of the Pacific- all but one plane unlocked
6.Ace Combat 5 - 1/3 of all aircraft unlocked
7.Gundam, Federation vs Zeon - completed
8.Star Wars Battlefront 2 - completed
9.Valkyrie Profile 2 - never finished
10.Dukes of Hazzard - never finished
11.Monster Jam - never finished
12.Call of Duty 3 - finished, then played online
Many of these games, I can't remember where half the things are that I have unlocked, especially for Metal Gear Solid 3. Now that I can't use my memory card because every game says that there is no data, I'm screwed because I never got a second memory card to back up my files. (Damnit, Damnit, Damnit).
It's gonna be hell to get all this data all over again...
**GOOD NEWS: I got a regular Sony 8 MB memory card and was able to save both of the Soul Calibur, Metal Gear Solid 3, and Ace Combat save files. I figure that I can sttart everything else all over again.
